The UK Space Agency is funding 10 space climate projects to tackle water pollution, carbon emissions and biodiversity threats.

One of the companies selected is London-based Frontierra, an environmental geospatial consultancy founded by Brigette Reid and Lewis Rattray.

Founded in 2020, Frontierra supply data, documentation, and reports to assist in corporate sustainability reporting and compliance with environmental laws.

“The team at Frontierra are over the moon to be selected for funding by the UK Space Agency to ramp up our service offering for biodiversity and nature-related risk and opportunity assessments for corporations and financial institutions.”

— Lewis Rattray, Managing Director at Frontierra

Frontierra identify, quantify and report deforestation, reforestation and carbon dynamics in the operations and supply chains of agricultural producers, cooperatives, traders, purchasers and financiers.

Reforestation is important because it restores ecosystems, absorbs carbon dioxide, and supports biodiversity, contributing to climate mitigation and overall environmental health.

Frontierra is a member of the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) based in London.

TNFD is developing a risk management and disclosure framework for organisations to report and act on evolving nature-related risks.
